Packing Disney Outfits for kids!

We're THAT family. You know, the one that's going to go all out and boujee every opportunity you get. Planning a trip to Disney is as exciting as it gets!  The entire planning process for their Disney outfits was so fun to sit down and do with each one of my kids. From the basic outfit to the details, picking out their outfits with the kids added an extra touch of magic to the trip.

Things I took into account while helping the kids pick out outfits:

1. Comfort is KEY!

While I wanted them to love their outfits and be cute, the most important factor for me to consider while choosing Disney park outfits for the kids was comfort. Disney parks involve a lot of walking, standing, and possibly waiting in lines. Here are some tips:

  • Breathable Fabrics: Opt for clothes made from breathable materials like cotton. This helps keep your child cool and comfortable throughout the day. We did go with black because the temps weren't too high, but I'd probably avoid that in the Summer! The girls and I chose all the cute athletic shorts/skorts/dresses.

  • Appropriate Footwear: Sneakers or supportive sandals are a must. Avoid new shoes that haven’t been broken in to prevent blisters. Patton wore his Woody boots ALL day, but I had taken a change of shoes and continued to ask him throughout the day how his feet were!

  • Weather-Appropriate Clothing: Check the weather forecast and dress your child accordingly. For hot days, lightweight shorts and tanks are ideal. For cooler days or even nights for us, layering was essential.

2. Practical Accessories

Accessories made our outfits! But I wanted to make sure they had a purpose. Not only were they fashionable, but they helped represent the characters we were dressing up as!

  • Hats and Sunglasses: Protect your child from the sun with a cute hat and a pair of sunglasses. Look for themed options to stay in the Disney spirit.

  • Backpacks and Fanny Packs: A small backpack or fanny pack can help your child carry their own snacks, water bottle, and autograph book. Make sure it’s lightweight and comfortable.

  • Cooling Towels and Fans: For hot days, cooling towels and portable fans can be lifesavers.

3. Prepare for Spills and Accidents

Kids and spills go hand in hand, especially when there’s a lot of excitement (and potentially ice cream) involved. Be prepared with:

  • Extra Outfits: Pack an extra set of clothes for each child. This ensures you’re ready for any spills, accidents, or sudden weather changes.

  • Wet Wipes and Hand Sanitizer: These are essential for quick clean-ups and staying hygienic.

We all know the memories and time together is the most important part, but the disney outfits were so fun to pick out together and made getting ready early in the morning so fun! Picking out the perfect Disney park outfits for kids can enhance the magic of the experience. Prioritize comfort, embrace the Disney theme, and be prepared for anything the day might bring. With the right outfits, your little ones will be ready for a day filled with fun, adventure, and unforgettable memories. Enjoy your magical Disney adventure!
